Precision Microbes visit Spanish farms

This week our Vet consultant Tommy Heffernan visited some Spanish dairies (Cows and sheep) to look at Precision microbes’ role in helping Spanish farmers.

With changing legislation there is the potential to reduce antibiotics with calves and lambs using different microbial blends. By supporting better gut health and immunity with long-term feeding of microbes.

With cryptosporidium being a big challenge on farms we looked at the use of halofuginone and Precision microbes.

While on halofuginone for the first seven days, a dose rate of microbes is fed at 30mls twice daily for calves. Then back onto 30mls daily for 30 days of microbes.

This protocol had been used in Irish dairy farms with great success.
